Working in a task form

In this page, you will learn how to use the add, edit or delete widgets. This is an important step in organizing your task forms in a clear and simple way. In order to understand what each widget offers in terms of visualization, please check the Managing widgets page.


Add widgets
  1. Enter the task you would like to work on.
  2. Click on the button and select Enable edit-mode . Alternatively, you can use the shortcut ALT + W.
  3. Click on the Add a new widget button.
  4. Select the widget you would like to Add. See more details here.
  5. Provide required data and Configure widget.
  6. Save the widget.

    Edit mode disable?

    You can always disable the edit-mode by either clicking on the Disable edit-mode button or using the ALT + W shortcut.

    Missing data?

    If there are certain parts or properties you are missing, then you can always add them in the Provide data step. Use the buttons on top to adapt the data model as desired.

    Missing button?

    If the is not visible, that means there is no metapanel widget in your task. Use the ALT + W shortcut or click the Edit Activity button on the right bottom of the page.

Edit widgets
  1. Enter the task you would like to work on.
  2. Click on the button and select Enable edit-mode . Alternatively, you can use the shortcut ALT + W.
  3. Find the widget you would like to Edit and click on its button (located on the top right of the widget).
  4. Click on the Edit widget button.

Move widgets
  1. Enter the task you would like to work on.
  2. Click on the button and select Enable edit-mode . Alternatively, you can use the shortcut ALT + W.
  3. Find the widget you would like to Move and click on its button (located on the top right of the widget).
  4. Click on the Move up or Move down button.

    Too much moving?

    Add a widget directly where you need it by using the button of a neighboring widget and selecting Add a widget before or Add a widget after buttons.

Delete widgets
  1. Enter the task you would like to work on.
  2. Click on the button and select Enable edit-mode . Alternatively, you can use the shortcut ALT + W.
  3. Find the widget you would like to Delete and click on its button (located on the top right of the widget).
  4. Click on the Delete widget button.

Merge widgets
  1. Enter the task you would like to work on.
  2. Click on the button and select Enable edit-mode . Alternatively, you can use the shortcut ALT + W.
  3. Find the widgets you would like to Merge and click on the button of the lower widget.
  4. Click on the Merge with the top widget
    button.

Complete your task form

Your task is now correctly configured through widgets. You, or someone assigned by you, now needs to fill in the values of editable properties, such that users working on other tasks form further down in the work breakdown structure can use the values.

Check your progress?

Watch as the progress of the task gets closer to 100% as you fill in more and more property values.

Add attachments?

Use the upload

button located next to the attachment properties, in order to store files such as images, audio files or Excel documents. Attachment properties customized using the attachment viewer widget will also have a preview shown inside the task form.

Save your task form in a pdf?

Use the button and select Download as PDF to save the current status of your task form in a PDF format.


Once your property values have been filled in and your progress is at 100%, make sure to change the status from Open to Completed using the button located in the metapanel widget. That will let other users know that you have finished your work on the task and they can use your results to resume their work on their own tasks.

Changed your mind?

You can always change the task's status back to Open using the same steps as above.
