his page will show how to manage the activities (sub-processes and tasks) inside your KE-chain project. However, before reading it, make sure that you first covered the KE-chain concepts, specifically the ones found in the Related articles section.


Create a sub-process
  1. Go to your project.
  2. Access the Work breakdown, using the sidebar button.
  3. Select the Project node or any other Sub-process. The selected node will be the parent of the newly created subprocess.
  4. Click on the Add button.
  5. Change the mode to Subprocess.
  6. Provide a name and optionally a description, assignees, a start date and a due date.

  7. Confirm by clicking on the Add button.

    Want to continue adding?

    If you would like to continue adding sub-processes under the same sub-process, then in step 6 you can click on the Add & add another button.

Create a task
  1. Go to your project.
  2. Access the Work breakdown, using the sidebar button.
  3. Select the Project node or any other Sub-process. The selected node will be the parent of the newly created task.
  4. Click on the Add button.
  5. Make sure the mode is set to Task.
  6. Provide a name and optionally a description, assignees, a start date and a due date.

  7. Click on the Add button.

    Looking for a task?

    In case your work breakdown tree becomes too large and you begin to lack overview of it, consider using the Search functionality located above the tree on the right side.

Edit an activity
  1. Go to your project.

  2. Access the Work breakdown, using the sidebar button.
  3. Select the task or subprocess you would like to Edit.
  4. Click the Edit button.
  5. Adapt the name, description, start date and due date. Furthermore, you can now also set the assignees and status of the activity.

  6. Confirm by clicking on the Edit button.

    Cannot find users to assign?

    Make sure the users are included in the Project team before you can assign them to a task or sub-process. Read here on how to manage a Project team.

    Edit multiple tasks at once?

    If you want to make the same changes to multiple tasks or sub-process, then you can tick the check boxes to the left of the desired activities and click on the Edit button located above the work breakdown tree.

Delete an activity
  1. Go to your project.

  2. Access the Work breakdown, using the sidebar button.
  3. Select the task or subprocess you would like to Delete.
  4. Click on the Delete button.

    Edit multiple tasks at once?

    If you want to delete multiple tasks or sub-processes, then you can tick the check boxes to the left of the desired activities and click on the Delete button located above the work breakdown tree.

Move an activity
  1. Go to your project.
  2. Access the Work breakdown, using the sidebar button.
  3. Select the task or sub-process you would like to Move.
  4. Click the Move button.
  5. In the opened dialog, select the new Sub-process to move the activity under.

  6. Confirm the selection.



    Moving a sub-tree?

    Moving a sub-process will also move the entire structure it contains.

Cascade down the changes under a subprocess
  1. Go to your project.
  2. Access the Work breakdown, using the sidebar button.
  3. Select the sub-process you would like to edit (including its sub-tree).
  4. Click the Edit button.
  5. Adapt the name, description, start date and due date. Furthermore, you can now also set the assignees and status of the activity.

  6. On the bottom of the dialog, tick the field "Also propagate changes to the descendants"
  7. Confirm the Edit.



    Overwrite values?

    Would you like to overwrite the assignees or tags of the descendants? Tick on the corresponding "Overwrite" fields. This will remove the current assignees of the subprocess and its descendants and overwrite them with new values.
